Thread count is the number of different colored threads used in a design. We offer up to seven different colors for free on any embroidered patch design, but you can include as many different colors as you need to make sure the artwork is perfect.
Embroidery coverage refers to how much of the patch is actually embroidered and how much is left untouched by the needle. All of our custom embroidered patches are priced in one of two brackets: 75% embroidered or less, and 76% embroidered to 100% embroidered. A higher thread coverage will give you a more elaborate design with more detail. For patches with less than 100% thread coverage, a certain amount of the mesh backing will be showing through, but this can actually help accentuate your custom artwork.
